As of March 1st 2017 new laws have been put into place to crack down on people using their phones whilst driving. People who have had their driving licence for less than 2 years will, if caught, have their licence revoked and will have to retake their theory and practical tests. For more experienced drivers there will be a penalty of six points and a £200 fine. Drivers who reach twelve points on their licence can be banned.
